From South Africa’s premium winemaking region comes a range of very special wines. Set high above the sweeping slopes of the Helderberg Mountains; surrounded by cooling coastal breezes, warming sunshine, and magnificent vistas as far as Table Mountain and False Bay. Complete with rich soils, gentle rains and a temperate climate perfect for growing world-class reds. Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes all benefit from high-altitude vineyards lying up to 340m above sea level. Cooler temperatures curb the natural vigour of the vines, making the typical varietal flavours more concentrated. The first vineyards were planted in the early 80s.
All Cordoba wines capture the essence of the winery; it’s spectacular setting and our philosophy of restoring the precious indigenous flora, named Fynbos. As this diverse floral kingdom revives around our vines, so the wildlife returns, filling the fresh air with birdsong and buzzing. Grapes flourish and beauty abounds. Today, Cordoba wines are being resurrected with a new range, rising like a Phoenix to build up to an even greater Crescendo in years to come.
